SEOUL, South Korea – 28 August, 2017 –  South Korea’s leading unstructured data management solution and service provider, I-ON (www.i-on.net/eng) has recently brought off a successful localization of DLMS / COSEM protocol. DLMS / COSEM is the most widely accepted international standard for utility meter data exchange.

In addition to its main business in WCMS (Web Content Management System) sector, I-ON has become an emerging technology provider in Smart Grid sector, especially in DR (Demand Response) and Prosumer.

As an international standard protocol for two-way remote measurement, DLMS / COSEM (IEC62056) is a core protocol of AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure) for real-time monitoring of energy consumption and data communication between a server and a client.

I-ON Communications has successfully developed 100% Korean-made server and client working under the DLMS / COSEM protocol that are compliant with international standards (Blue / Breen Book) conducting a government-led R&D project named ‘wire / wireless hybrid and high reliability AMI system development’. 

With the successful result of the project, I-ON is expected to commercialize the localized DLMS / COSEM protocol and provide local H/W and S/W vendors with the technology based on C library to support customized environment of each vendor, which will bring business opportunities.
